Texas LLC owner lookup
Texas runs its business search through the Secretary of State's SOSPortal (formerly SOSDirect), at $1 per search as authorized by statute. The official search page documents manager, member, officer and agent searches.
Begin at www.sos.state.tx.us/corp/sosda/index.shtml. The portal charges a statutory $1 fee per search.
You can look up a company or search by a person's role as manager, member, officer or agent.
Texas filings can name governing persons, yet those roles are not a statement of who ultimately owns the company.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Texas search free?
No. The SOSPortal charges $1 per search. CapRoll's free property count is separate from that fee.
Does an LLC skip trace tell me who owns the company?
Not conclusively. It may return people associated with the entity, such as managers, members, officers and registered agents. These are possible associations, not verified ownership; a validated record may contain only a registered agent.
What is a registered agent, and are they the owner?
A registered agent receives legal papers for the company. It is a service role and is frequently a commercial agent with no ownership interest.
Who may use these results?
Use them only to identify and contact the people who manage or control a business entity that owns, or is a party to, a real estate transaction you are pursuing or evaluating, about that transaction. They are not for credit, insurance, employment, housing or tenancy decisions, debt collection, legal process, unrelated marketing or bulk lists.
